...AND THE BOYS CRASH OUT Hosts of the 2010 FIFA World CUP, South Africa, saturday crashed out of the Nations Cup which holds five months before they host the world.
Playing before a partisan home crowd in Port Elizabeth, and needing either a victory against visiting Super Eagles of Nigeria, or a victory for Equatorial Guinea over hosts, Sierra Leone, in the group's other match, Bafana Bafana(The Boys, the Boys) crashed by a lone goal to the group leaders who maintained their 100% record in the qualifiers.
Nigeria has never lost to South Africa in any competitive match, but this looked like ending with the hosts creating a plethora of chances, but poor marksmanship couple with good goalkeeping ensured the visitors left with their defensive record intact.
Getafe striker, Ikechukwu Uche scored the solitary goal of the game after 70 minutes after turning two defenders and firing into the bottom right corner of the South African goal.
In the group's other game, visiting Equatorial Guinea lost to Sierra Leone by 2:1.
